Tux wants to drive!
Riverdale High School students are bringing an OpenSource Lab to this year's NECC conference in New Orleans. The lab will be open to teachers all week for checking e-mail and Internet access. We're also planning a wide range of OpenSource software demonstrations.

  • OFSET - Freeduc: Complete Linux on a CD-Rom with plenty of educational applications. Everything runs from the CD. No installation required.
  • ClusterKnoppix: We'll turn our lab into an instant openMosix cluster for some high power computing. The best part is that we'll do it all from a single CD-Rom in less than 5 minutes.
  • Digital Photography and the Gimp: We'll be showing off our OpenSource curriculum for digital photo classes. If you aren't using the GIMP in your art classes start here to see what you're missing.
  • OpenOffice: Free is a great price for this awesome program. Make copies. Give it away to your students and teachers.       It works. It's free. Duh...  ;-^)
