From K12LTSP Wiki
I find that the fastest way to search for answers to questions that may have already been covered in the K12OSN mailing list is with an Advanced Google Search. The following example presents some suggestions for using this feature in the context above:
If I wanted to search for all instances of terms mosix or openmosix in the K12OSN mailing list I would:
- Go to the Advanced Search on Google found at [1]
- Enter my search in the "Find Results" section as follows:
- Enter K12OSN in the "with all* words" field.
- Enter openmosix mosix in the "with at least* one of the words" field
- Enter listman.redhat.com or redhat.com in the "Domain" field with Only "return results from the site or domain" selected.
This would return all of the instances of messages regarding those subjects from the K12OSN mailing list (not from all of the Redhat mailing lists.)
This is an exceptionally easy way to find answers to arcane issues that may have already been resolved. Other example might include getting certain NIC cards to boot, resolving display modeline issues, using ISA NICs in client systems, sound controller questions, etc.
Note: This is assuming that the header K12OSN is in the subject line of the messages (which in most cases it is).
